What Will I Learn?

Students will learn the aspects of building methods and materials as well as the skills needed to successfully manage construction projects through estimating, scheduling and project management. Throughout the program, students will work a variety of conceptual and real projects and be led by instructors with vast experience in the field.

The in-depth practical coursework prepares students for direct entry into the field as well as the potential to further their study leading to an advanced degree. Most students find employment while pursuing their associates degree and balance their job while pursuing a bachelor's degree if desired. Construction Management has been identified as a rapidly growing field with an employment increase of over 10-14% in the next 10 years. The yearly median salary for experienced construction managers is $90,000 in Illinois (Bureau of Labor Statistics OES).
