How To Print

Explanations on how to print on various equipment can be accessed through the .PDF guides listed below. If you cannot view the documents, you can download Adobe Reader for free at http://get.adobe.com/reader/

  1. To print from a computer in the Library or open lab.
  2. To print through the Web (including from your own personal device).
    • Web Printing, available at http://myprint.jjc.edu, is a convenient way to quickly print documents; however, does not allow you to change print options, so the default print options will automatically be applied and cannot be changed.  This means all documents will be printed duplex (double-sided) and PowerPoint documents will print 1 slide per page.  If you need to change print options, either e-mail the document to yourself or save it to a USB flash drive and use one of the computers in an open lab to make changes.
  3. To print from a computer with MyPC.
  4. To print as a guest (for Community Users) in the library.

By default, all documents print double-sided. If you need to print single-sided you will need to change the print options in the software you are using.

How to Add Funds

Using Cash to Add Funds

  1. To add funds to your account, you may deposit cash in the Coin Boxes next to the cPads.

  5. If you would like to save the money into your account for future printing, simply click "Recharge my Account" on the cPad and it will be available for future printing.

Student Print Services FAQ

How does the system work?

Instead of sending your print jobs directly to the printer, the print management system sends your document to a server and stores it there. You use a special computer, called a release station, to connect to the server where your documents are stored and send them to the printer. The release station computer is located next to the printers in the lab. This added step will allow you to make sure you know exactly what you are printing before the document prints. It will also allow you to make one trip to the printer instead of several during your stay in the lab.

What is a release station?

A release station is a computer located next to the printers that you use to 'OK' your documents before they print. You can send several prints to the release station throughout your stay in the library, then stop by the release station on your way out to print all of your documents at once.

Is there a charge for printing?

The cost for Black & White printing is 10 cents per page and 15 cents for duplex (double-sided). Color printing is 25 cents per page and 40 cents for duplex (double-sided).  Color printing is only available in the Main Campus library.   Each time you print the cost is deducted from your print balance.

How long will my print jobs stay in the system?

Print jobs stay in the system for eight hours. If you have not printed your documents in that time they will be deleted from the print station.

Do I have to print out one document at a time?

No, to save trips to the release station you should submit several documents to the printer and then print them all at once.

What do I do if I decide I don't want to print the document.

You have two options. First, you can just leave the document on the print management server and let it expire on its own after eight hours. Or, you can go to the release station computer, place a checkmark next to the document you no longer wish to print, then click on the Delete button.

Can I print from my personal device (laptop, tablet, etc.)?

Yes, just go the website http://myprint.jjc.edu, login with your JJC account, upload and submit your document. After it is submitted, you can release and pick it up at the printer you chose. View the guide How to Print Through the Web.

I do not have a JJC account, can I still print?

Yes, visit the Service Desk in the Library and you will be provided with a 1-day temporary login. You can pay with cash at the printer when you are ready to print.

Will my old Equitrac payment card work?

No, with the new system you will use your Student ID.

Can I get a refund on my old Equitrac card?

Yes, minus the cost of the card, by visiting Student Accounts (A-1020).

What is the cost of printing?

The cost for Black and White printing is 10 cents per page and 15 cents for duplex (double-sided). Color printing is 25 cents per page and 40 cents for duplex (double-sided).
