All podium computers include a CD drive, floppy drive and USB jump drive access. Semi-smart room information by campus:
Semi-Smart Room Instructions
Please remember to lock everything before leaving!
Projector
Select or press the red or green "Power" button on the projector remote control. Be sure to point it at the projector. If it does not work, turn off fluorescent lights and try again.
Important: To turn off projector: Press the "Power" button twice.
DVD/VCR
Insert your tape or disk in the player and press "Play". On the remote, press the "Video" button. If you don't see the image you expected, wait 5 seconds and press "Video" again.
Computer
First check to see if power is on by moving the mouse or pressing the space bar. If it is not on, then turn it on. Push the "RGB" or "Computer" button on the projector remote.
If you don't see the image you expected, wait 5 seconds and press "RGB" again.
Login
Login to the computer using your username and password. Be sure the domain is set to JOLIET (This is from the pull down list). Your username and password are the same as your email username/password. If you do not know your username/password, see the username/password help page. If you have questions about the domain contact PC HELP at (815) 280-4357.
Laptop Computer
If you want to use a laptop, you will need to connect a VGA cable into the computer 2 port on the wall plate (DO NOT unplug the podium computer from the wall plate). Once you are connected, press the "RGB" button on projector remote. If you do not see an image, you might need to adjust the laptop by using the function (FN) button along with the LCD/CRT "F" button (i.e. FN/F3 or FN/F8). Call media for help if needed at (815) 280-2281.
Sound
To adjust the volume, turn the large volume knob (Black, silver or grey wired remote on workstation). If your VCR sounds quiet, turn off the computer, this will help.
Calculator
For rooms with the TI presenter. Turn projector to Video and turn VCR to channel L1. Be sure to plug your calculator into the cable coming out of the top of podium.
