- Another good free online image editor. Located at
- Open Internet Explorer from either your JJC Desktop or through Citrix (You must use Internet Explorer to access the editing Web site. If you do not have Internet Explorer or your are off campus, please use Citrix).
- Go to the Web page you wish to edit.
- In the address bar (the long bar at the top of Internet Explorer), change "www" to "edit". You must remove the "www", or it will not work.
- It will now ask you to login. Once logged in, you can begin editing.
Be sure to check that you've put your username as "Joliet\username" but without the "" and with your JJC username. Check that you've used a backslash after Joliet. The backslash key is located above the enter key on most keyboards.
For the password, use your JJC password. Remember that passwords are case sensitive. Double check that you do not have the caps lock key on and that you are typing it correctly.
If you've incorrectly entered your password too many times, you may have caused your account to become locked. To unlock it, please go to the ID / User Name / Password help page, choose "find my JJC ID / username / password", and follow the steps in unlocking your account.
Be sure you are on the editing Web site. This means replacing the "www" with "edit" when going to the JJC Web site. For example, "http://edit.jjc.edu/". Also, be sure you are accessing the site through Internet Explorer from either your JJC Desktop or from Citrix.
If you have it set up to not ask you to login each time, be sure to check that you have the site actions button in the top right corner (you may need to scroll to the top inorder to see it). Click on it and choose "edit". Then you will be able to start editing the page.
To log out of SharePoint, click on the blue "Site Actions" button, located at the top right corner of the screen. Choose "Manage Content and Structure". On this page you will see at the top right "Welcome (your name)". Click on this, and choose "Sign Out".
The editing Web site is only available either through your desktop at JJC or through Citrix. If you need to edit your Web site from an off campus connection, or you do not have Internet Explorer on your JJC Desktop, please use Citrix.
- Start your computer's Web browser (for example Safari or Firefox) and go to the JJC homepage. Click the Check Email link at the top of the page.
- On the Email and Citrix page, click the Connect to Citrix link.
- In the Log In box, type your JJC email name (without the @jjc.edu) and password. The domain should be set to Joliet. Click the Log In button.
- In the Applications box, click Internet Explorer. Wait while the launch.ica file opens IE.
- Navigate to the page you want to edit on the JJC site.
- To get into SharePoint edit mode, change the "www" in the URL to “edit”.
- Log into SharePoint with Joliet\ in front of your user name.
Single spacing in Sharepoint requires what is called a soft return. To do this, hold down the "SHIFT" key while pressing "Enter".
It is recommended not to use single spacing unless absolutely necessary. Paragraphs are much more readable when broken apart by space.
WebParts are more advanced features of a page, such as online forms, image galleries, and other applications. If you need something adjusted within one of these features please put in a helpdesk ticket at http://helpdesk.jjc.edu.
