Parade Float Guidelines
Parade Float Guidelines
- All parades must be held in the Joliet Junior College District.
- No one under the age of 18 will be permitted to ride on the float. No pets are allowed on the float at any time.
- All requests for float reservations must be submitted to Darlene Boyle, extension 2346 or via e-mail at dboyle@jjc.edu as soon as possible in order to allow ample time for scheduling.
- The person requesting the float will be the contact person for that parade. All volunteers must sign a release form on or before the day of the parade. They must complete all parade paperwork and forward the information to Darlene Boyle, in the Office of Administrative Services. The parade contact is responsible for:
- All parade paperwork
- Securing all volunteers
- The parade volunteers at all times
- Being present at the parade to ensure guidelines are met
- Removing all materials that the group attached to the float
- Returning the float in the same condition as prior to the parade
- Remember, you are representing Joliet Junior College and all Core Values must be upheld. Please refer to the Student Handbook for the “Student Code of Conduct” of the Employee Handbook for “Conduct in the Workplace”.
- Only 6-9 people can be on the float at all times due to float design restrictions.
- If groups want to pass out addition information of materials about their organization; it must be approved through Administrative Services office no less than 72 hours in advance.
- The Office of Administrative Services in conjunction with Facility Services is responsible for scheduling the float and full time employee to drive the float.
- If the parade is cancelled due to weather it is the parade contact’s responsibility to notify all volunteers and the driver.
