The Screaming Norwegians concert will be held Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theater on Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.
The free concert is part of the Musica Viva recital series.

, The Screaming Norwegians are two friendly young men from North Dakota (transplanted to Chicago) who enjoy making music by hitting things with sticks. Adam Cowger and Ben Wahlund have entertained all around the country and love the pleasure of making percussive music with friends, old and new, in all sorts of settings.
Adam Cowger is currently an adjunct professor of music at JJC where he directs the percussion ensemble and teaches applied percussion. As a freelance artist in the Chicago area, Adam has performed with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Indiana Symphony, and the New Philharmonic. In addition, Adam performed at the 2005 and 2003 Montreux Jazz Festivals, and the 2004 South by Southwest Music Festival. Adam holds a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota, both in percussion performance.
Ben Wahlund is an internationally award-winning composer, educator, and performer of percussion. With bachelor degrees in music education and performance from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, as well as a Master’s Degree in Music Theory and Composition and a Performance Certificate in percussion from Northern Illinois University he has seen success as a musician on a number of fronts since the early 1990s. Mr. Wahlund serves as adjunct music education faculty at North Central College in Naperville.
