City Center Sector Evacuation Procedures
City Center Sector Evacuation Procedures
- Sector Leader Checklist (PDF). Sector leader clipboards containing a walkie-talkie, vest, map, and flashlight are located with each sector leader.
- Sector Coordinator Checklist (PDF). A sector coordinator clipboard containing a blank checklist, walkie-talkie, vest, maps, and flashlight are located in the CSO desk.
- Upon issuance via the public-address system of an evacuation to shelter area, building evacuation, or activation of the fire alarm, each sector leader is to retrieve the sector clipboard, put on the sector vest, and put the batteries in the walkie-talkie and turn on to channel 4 (volume up).
- The CSO (sector coordinator) will retrieve the sector coordinator clipboard, put on the sector vest, and put the batteries in the walkie-talkie and turn unit on to channel 4 (volume up).
- Follow appropriate building evacuation or evacuation to shelter area procedures. If safety permits, close doors to evacuated rooms and leave lights on.
- After sector evacuation is complete (either building evacuation or evacuation to shelter areas), report back to the CSO "sector (number) clear". The CSO will respond "sector (number) clear confirmed" to alert you that your transmission was received. The CSO will check off each cleared sector on the City Center Campus Sector Coordinator Checklist.
- If a "sector clear" is not received within a reasonable amount of time, the CSO will request a sector clear status until one is received from the sector leader.
- If someone is injured, advise the CSO of the situation via the walkie-talkie.
- The CSO will report via the walkie-talkie when an "All Clear" situation exists.
- Advise evacuees of the "All Clear" status or any other directives given.
- Return clipboard and contents (remove batteries from the walkie-talkie) back to its location.
- Walkie-talkie units and flashlights will be tested monthly by the CSO to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
