How to Register
To participate in the Fitness Center you need to register for HPR 101 and a one time orientation. The orientation will familiarize you with the Center, the concepts of physical fitness and the correct use of the facility and equipment.
Pre- and Post-Testing
At the orientation you will sign up for a one hour pretest. This will provide you with a written fitness evaluation and workout program.
A pretest is an assessment of resting heart rate, blood pressure, strength, flexibility and body fat composition. Members will receive a computerized printout of their personal fitness program, listing the number of repetitions and amount of weight to use at each station.
At the end of the semester, another evaluation will be made showing your progress. A grade is awarded based on the number of visits to the Center and completion of the progress test (A=26 visits per semester). You are not graded on how strong or skilled you become.
Walk the Trails
Joliet Junior College and the Will County Forest Preserve have trails through JJC's property. You will see wildlife including deer, oaks, and wildflowers. Download the map (PDF).
