Joan has a background both as a secondary teacher and as an occupational nurse. She has been employed by several Chicagoland corporations managing disability programs and overseeing health and safety training of employees. She presently works part time for a healthcare management company providing telephonic triage as an "Ask-A-Nurse" to clients throughout the United States.
Joan's thesis research was on employee health newsletters and she is very interested in how employees learn and incorporate health information.
Joan and her husband, Larry, have been exercising regularly in the Fitness Center. She enjoys the energy boosts that regular workouts provide so she can pursue other interests which include running, traveling, party planning, and visiting her twin sister in Wisconsin.
