Items Discussed

  1. New Horticulture Labs, Classrooms, and Greenhouse site locations.
    1. The general consensus of the group was to locate the new building and all of its components at Site Location 1, with Site Location 1A also getting a little consideration.
      1. Site Location 2 didn't make much sense.
      2. Site Location 3 merits consideration, although there are problems with access due to the ditch, a lot of agriculture land will be taken up, and there are issues with water 18" -24" below grade.
      3. Issues the college will consider include: staff/student access, image to public on Houbolt, adjacency for public access to greenhouse, giving up valuable agricultural land vs existing barn/farm area, value of development area, etc.
