Culinary World Olympics - Chef Bucci has been invited to the Culinary World Olympics; however there is a budget concern for funding of this invitation.
Outcome: SLT was in agreement that Chef Bucci should attend the event. Budget funds should come from the academic affairs areas.
Administrative Services
- Food service in new campus center - J. Mitchell and T. Pagoria presented different options to SLT for their review. Suggestions were made and SLT will be kept updated on the plan as it moves forward.
- North campus food service - J. Mitchell and T. Pagoria indicated that food service will be provided to north campus very soon. They are looking at September 22 as the first day of food service, depending on working through a staffing issue.

Early childhood staffing change - Proposed staffing changes were discussed with SLT. The suggested change would help alleviate a staffing shortage that exists in this area.
Outcome: SLT concurred with the recommendations presented.
- Ag shop options - The on-going architect's planning for this area was discussed.
Institutional Advancement and Research

Campus Communications - Staff are encouraged to review everybody emails with their appropriate VP, Dean or supervisor in order to ensure consistent and accurate information is being disseminated. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for reviewing and sending the email from the human resources area.
Outcome: SLT should discuss this request with their areas.
- Strategic Planning - The strategic planning process is moving along good. We have met with the department chairs and received a good response to the presentation. Department visits will begin in the near future.
- Marketing Plan Update - Meetings are continuing. A marketing communication specialist has been hired.
Student Development
- P&PD - Feedback on the P&PD week was shared with SLT. Suggestions from employees will be taken under advisement.
- Greeter Program for Fall Semester - We will need to have more volunteers for the greeter program in the future. Suggestion of having SLT involved in the program and perhaps Administrative Council members was made.
- Active shooter drill - Good feedback from the shooter drill during staff development. Plans are to include this as one of the drills in the near future.

Review of Administrative Council Agenda - SLT reviewed the proposed Administrative Council agenda.
Outcome: Suggested changes to the agenda will be made by B. Oudenhoven.

Student Leaders Tuition Refunds - Board policy for student leaders in student government was reviewed. Further discussion will take place regarding which leaders are included in the policy.
Outcome: Policy should be presented to the BOT at the September workshop meeting. Inclusion of costs to be available for the Board's information.

Datatel programming for linking registration and payment screens - Discussion on the cost of programming to complete this function.
Outcome: SLT was in agreement to move this item forward as soon as possible.
Learner Support and Technology Services
Human Resources

Clerical upgrades - appeals and retro dollars - The working copy of the proposed grade changes were reviewed.
Outcome: SLT approved moving forward with the next steps.

Winter break - The calendar for winter break was reviewed. The dates approved by the Board for the winter break were closing at 4:30 pm on December 23 and reopening the college on January 5, 2009.
Outcome: J. Coleman will update the information with suggestions made by SLT.

Employee Assistance Plan - Recommendation is being made to change carrier for the EAP plan. This carrier offers more services and with a lower premium.
Outcome: SLT is in agreement with the recommendation to change the carrier. Information on this will be presented to the Board of Trustees at the October board meeting.
- Adjunct union contract - SLT was updated on the last adjunct union meeting.

Support staff upgrades - Timelines for upgrades for support staff and clerical staff were reviewed.
Outcome: SLT recommended that the current timeline schedule for upgrades be followed.
