The following directions are general instructions. Each cart has their own instructions specific to its equipment.
The main plug on the cart will work for everything.
Computer
Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the tower.
Data Projector
- To turn on: Press "Power" after projector is on and computer is booted up.
- To turn off: Press the "Power" button twice.
For cart projectors
It is very important that you properly shut down a projector when you are finished. These units are very expensive and must be treated carefully. You will know that a projector is powering off because you will see the image on the screen disappear; yet you will continue to hear the fan in the projector run. This is the cool down part of the shut down process. If the projector doesn't get to cool down, it will cause the bulb to explode, which is both expensive and dangerous. So please let the fan run, it will stop automatically when the internal temperature is at a suitable degree (probably about 2 minutes, so plan accordingly). It is at this point (given that the other equipment is off i.e. computer or VCR) that you can unplug the projector/cart to kill all power.
DVD/VCR
Using the remote, push the button corresponding to what you want (i.e. DVD or VHS) once the tape or DVD is in the machine, press play. If you do not see an image on the screen, push the input or source button on the projector until the image appears.
Sound
Sound for the computer is controlled through the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner of your computer screen.
Sound for the DVD/VCR is controlled with the small black roller dial located on the side of the player.
Network
The carts are equipment with a network cable but are wireless capable upon specific request. In order to use the wireless connection you will need to login using your school issued user name and password.
