First day for filing in office of the local election official. Original nominating petitions must contain original sheets signed by voters and circulators. |
| December 20, 2010 |
Last day for filing in office of the local election official original nomination petitions. A minimum of 50 signatures are required. The Statement of Economic Interest statement must be filed on or before this date with the Will County Clerk’s office and the receipt must be filed on or before this date with the local election official who received the nomination papers. |
| December 21, 2010 |
When two or more petitions are simultaneously filed for the same office as of the opening hour of the filing period, the local election official shall break ties and determine the order of filing by means of a lottery. The lottery shall be conducted within 9 days after the last day of the petition filing period and open to the public. If necessary, a lottery drawing will be held on December 21, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the office of the local election official for positions on the ballot of Joliet Junior College trustees. |

Last day for filing objections to nominating petitions of candidates in the office of the local election official or designee. |

Last day for candidate to file Withdrawal of Candidacy in the office of the local election official. Last day for local election official to certify candidates and the offices they are filing to the local election authority. |

Number of open positions
Two trustees are to be elected to fill the six year terms of Jeff May and Mike O'Connell. Mr. O'Connell was appointed to fill the vacancy created by Dick Dystrup.
Filing period
Petitions for the office of Joliet Junior College Trustee are to be filed between December 13 and December 20, 2010 from the hours of 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. On the last day of filing, December 20, hours to file are between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at which time the following documents must be on file:
- Statement of Candidacy
- Nominating Petition Sheets totaling 50 or more signatures and properly notarized
- Receipt for filing a Statement of Economic Interest with the Will County Clerk specifically for the office of Joliet Junior College trustee.
