Head Women's Soccer Coach
The 2014 season will be Larry Graiber's first season as head coach of the JJC women's soccer team.
Larry attended Bolingbrook High School where he was a student of the game under Coach Mike Matkovich. Coach Matkovich is currently the assistant coach of the professional MLS team, Chicago Fire. After high school Larry attended Devry University and continued playing at various adult soccer leagues such as the Metro League playing semi-professional soccer.
Larry continued to be involved in soccer past his playing career by coaching his both of his sons. He became a staff coach and board member at Plainfield Soccer Association (PSA) which is now Chicago Fire Juniors West. He then assisted the founding of a new boys' soccer organization called Plainfield Freedom SC now called Chicago Magic West where he was also a staff coach and board member. After many years of coaching under other's direction, Larry created his own soccer organization, the Thunder 3v3 Academy. The Thunder 3v3 Academy has helped develop player's soccer skills by using 3v3, a small-sided game. This has proved to be very successful by placing many of his youth players on USSDA and ECNL club teams.
Over the years, Larry has earned his USSF E license and currently is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). He will continue his coaching education with both the USSF and NSCAA.
He received his Bachelors of Science degree in electrical engineering technology (BSEET) from Devry University as well as a Master's in business administration (MBA) and a Master's in project management (MPM).
Larry resides in Plainfield with this wife Jessica and their two sons, Jacob and Justin.
Assistant Women's Soccer Coach
The 2014 season will be Kathy Kasher's first season as an assistant coach with the JJC women's soccer program.
Kathy grew up in Braidwood, IL and attended Reed-Custer High School where she was a defender and goalkeeper for the Lady Comets. She has also played for United Select Soccer Association (USSA).
Kasher is no stranger to JJC as she was the goalkeeper of the 2006 women's soccer team. During that season, her 166 saves ranks her 3rd in the single season saves category and 4th in career goalkeeper saves.
She received her Associates of Arts degree from Joliet Junior College. After JJC, she transferred to Eastern Illinois University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Sports Studies.
Coach Kasher has been an assistant coach at Reed-Custer High School for the past three years.
Kathy resides in Braceville, IL where she is a teacher at Braceville Elementary School.
