The Joliet Junior College baseball team defeated the College of DuPage by a score of 11-1 in the 2012 home opener. Trevor Vermillion, Luke Andrade (2B, 2 RBI's), and Rick Gazarek (2B, RBI) all had two hits. Cody Krilich doubled for the Wolves, while Cole Judy earned 3 RBI's in the contest. Dakota Brown had a productive day with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Alex Parks picked up the win on the mound. He had 6 strikeouts in his seven innings of work. JJC (1-0 overall) travels to Triton College on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Game time is 2:30 pm.

The JJC baseball team defeated Triton College by a score of 13-2 in their first road game victory of the season. Trey Russell (doubled twice, 3 RBI's) and Luke Andrade (doubled twice) led the offense with 3 hits each. Cole Judy (RBI), Dakota Brown (2 RBI's), Dan Eliopulos (3 RBI's), and Casey Papp (Grand Slam, 4 RBI's) had two hits each. Sophomore Trevor Vermillion struck out 13 in 6 innings to grab the pitching win. JJC (2-0 overall) hosts Triton College on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Game time is 2:30 pm.

The Joliet Junior College baseball team defeated Triton College with a 12-10 final score. Jake Keefe paced the offense with three hits and 2 RBI's. Trey Russell (3 RBI's), Nick Gould (RBI), Dominic Olszta (3 RBI's), and Dan Eliopulos (2 RBI's) all had two hits each. Cody Krilich doubled for the Wolves. The Joliet Junior College baseball team dropped a pair of games against St. Louis Community College-Meramec. In game one, Meramec shut out the Wolves with a 4-0 score. JJC managed only two hits from Cody Krilich and Dakota Brown. A.J. Woynerowski pitched for 5 innings and struck out 3. St. Louis defeated JJC in game two by a score of 3-1. Luke Andrade had two hits, while Nick Gould doubled. Austin Vazquez put in 5 1/3 innings on the mound, struck out five, and gave up two hits. The JJC baseball team ended up in a split decision against Elgin Community College. It was all JJC in game one with a 5-2 score. Luke Andrade had two hits, while Cole Judy had a 3 RBI double. Trey Russell and Brandon Mackowiak both doubled in the contest. Trevor Vermillion got the win on the mound for the Wolves. He struck out 6 in his 6 1/3 innings pitched. Jonathan Rosario received the save. In game two, JJC fell to Elgin by a 6-4 score. Dakota Brown and Jake Keefe (RBI) both had two hits. Mike Hamilton struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings. The JJC baseball team dropped a pair of games to non-conference opponent College of Lake County. In game game one, Lake County edged out the Wolves by a score of 9-7. Luke Andrade had three hits and 4 RBI's, while Rick Gazarek, Tim Blaha (2B, 3 RBI's), and Cody Krilich (2B) had two hits each. Lake County topped the Wolves in game two with a 12-2 score. The Joliet Junior College baseball team earned a split decision against Volunteer State Community College (TN) in the opening day of their annual spring trip. In game one, the Wolves were defeated by a score of 5-2. Luke Andrade went 2-for-3 with a double. Dan Eliopulos had two hits in the contest. In game two, JJC came back to win by a 9-3 score. Luke Andrade went 3-for-4 and doubled twice. Nick Gould had two home runs, while Trey Russell doubled twice. Jared Steck picked up the win on the mound. The JJC baseball team finished their doubleheader against Volunteer State Community College (TN) in another split decision. In game one, Volunteer State shut out JJC by a score of 4-0. Trey Russell had two hits in the contest. In game two, the Wolves won a thrilling 12-inning marathon by a 14-12 score. Trey Russell went 6-for-8 with a triple, home run, and 6 RBI's. Luke Andrade (HR, 5 RBI's) and Dakota Brown (2B, RBI) had four hits each. Jonathan Rosario picked up the win for JJC. He struck out two in 5 innings and gave up only 3 hits. The Joliet Junior College baseball team dropped a pair of games against Columbia State Community College (TN). In game one, Columbia State edged out the Wolves by a 4-3 score. Luke Andrade (HR, 2 RBI's), Dan Eliopulos, and Dominic Olszta all had two hits. Alex Parks struck out three in 6 innings. In game two, JJC managed only two hits in their 12-2 loss to Columbia State. The JJC baseball team was defeated by Columbia State Community College (TN) by a score of 11-10. Both teams were tied in the 9th inning, but Columbia would go on to score the final winning run. Cole Judy led the Wolves with 3 hits including a double and 2 RBI's. Nick Gould hit two home runs and finished with 3 RBI's. Dakota  Brown and Trey Russell had two hits each, while Luke Andrade finished with 5 RBI's. JJC (9-11 overall) hosts Century College (MN) and Morton College on Saturday, March 24, 2012. The Joliet Junior College baseball team lost a pair of games in their home tri-match with Century College (MN) and Morton College. Century topped the Wolves in game one with a score of 8-4. Dakota Brown (2B, 2 RBI's) and Dan Eliopulos (2B) had two hits. Dominic Olszta had an RBI double in the contest. Mike Hamilton struck out 10 in 6 innings. In game two, Morton defeated JJC with a 9-7 score. Cole Judy, Luke Andrade (2 RBI's), and Dominic Olszta (3B, 4 RBI's) had two hits each. The Joliet Junior College baseball team defeated Rock Valley College by a score of 3-1 to become the Region IV Division III Sectional Champions. Dakota Brown led the Wolves with two hits. Trevor Vermillion went the distance on the mound for 8 1/3 innings. He gave up 3 hits and struck out three. Jonathan Rosario earned the save. JJC (31-28 overall) will take part in the Region IV Division III Championship series on May 11-13, 2012. The Wolves host the Harper/Milwaukee sectional winner on Friday, May 11, 2012. Game time is TBA.

Milwaukee edges out Wolves

The JJC baseball team fell to Milwaukee Area Technical College by a score of 9-7 in game one of the Region IV Championship baseball series. Cole Judy, Trey Russell, and Rick Gazarek had three hits each. Luke Andrade finished with two hits. JJC (31-29 overall) travels to Milwaukee Area Technical College on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Game two of the Region IV Championship series starts at 12:00 pm.

Wolves win big on the road

The Joliet Junior College baseball team bounced back in game two of the Region IV Championship series with an 18-2 victory over Milwaukee Area Technical College. Dakota Brown led the way with 5 hits (2B, 3 RBI's), while Luke Andrade (HR, 3B, 3 RBI's), Trey Russell (HR, 2B, 2 RBI's), and Cole Judy (2 RBI's) had three hits each. Dominic Olszta, Rick Gazarek, and Dan Eliopulos finished with two hits, as Casey Papp hit a solo home run for the Wolves. Trevor Vermillion earned the victory on the mound. He struck out six batters in his 7 innings of work. JJC (32-29 overall) hosts the final game of the Region IV Championship series on  Sunday, May 13, 2012. Game time is 12:00 pm.

Joliet claims Region IV  Championship title

The JJC baseball team defeated Milwaukee Area Technical College by a score of 12-11 to earn the Region IV Championship title. Luke Andrade led the Wolves with 4 hits including a double. Cole Judy had three hits, while Rick Gazarek (HR, 2 RBI's), Dakota Brown (RBI), and Dan Eliopulos (3B, 3 RBI's) had two hits each. Trey Russell had a 2 RBI triple in the contest. Mike Hamilton earned the pitching victory. He struck out eight in his 5 2/3 innings pitched. A.J. Woynerowski earned the save. JJC (33-29 overall) travels to the NJCAA Division III World Series in Tyler, Texas. The Wolves open up tournament play on Saturday, May 19, 2012 against Nassau Community College (NY). Game time is 12:00 pm.
