Descriptive Astronomy, Astronomy 101, is geared to the general student and requires no previous science or mathematics courses. Topics covered range from ancient beliefs concerning stars to black holes in space. This course is offered during the fall and spring semesters on both Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Possible summer sessions may also be scheduled.

Persons interested in planning a career in the space sciences, such as astronomy or astrophysics, are encouraged to contact the chairman of the Natural Sciences and Physical Education department at (815) 280-NOVA (6682), for additional information.
