Work Day In Oak Savanaugh PDF

Welcome to JJC's 2006 - 07 Natural Sciences Club!

The purpose of the JJC Natural Sciences Club is to provide a creative, social and educational outlet for those students interested in science -- through field trips, restoration work, discussions, and guest speakers.

Students can look forward to stimulating monthly meetings, field trips to places such as Brookfield Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, and Starved Rock.  There are educational and social interactions, and opportunities to help maintain and restore natural habitats.

The history of the Natural Sciences Club is interesting.  We used to be the Life Science Club and before that the Grassroots Club.  The members actively worked with Dr. Zales on many projects.  They were also active in the protest against dumping waste from many areas at the former arsenal.  Members have taken trips to Iowa, Tennessee (Great Smokey Mountains), and Maine. The club also has participated in the campus prairie restoration project, which entails prairie burns and seed collection.  Another club project is helping the Department of Conservation with deer check stations.

Our meetings are every two weeks (see Calendar of Events for times) in the OSA area on the Bridge.  Stop by and see what you can do.
