Campus Description

The Grundy County Campus is Joliet Junior College’s newest facility located in the Morris Archway Plaza. In addition to three semi-smart computer labs, student can take advantage of a wide variety of service including admissions and financial aid information, academic advising, and registration. The campus has a resource room shared with Grundy County Workforce Services which is open to all community residents and provides tools to assist with career changes or locating employment.

Fire Protection

The building is equipped with a sprinkler system but there is no wired fire alarm system in the college portion of the building.

A water flow alarm bell is located in the lobby and will indicate when a sprinkler head is flowing throughout the building. If this bell rings, the Morris Fire Department should be notified and the building evacuated immediately.

The campus will have posted evacuation plans (PDF).

There is a fire department connection on the east side of the building. Fire protection equipment is the responsibility of the building owner.

There are two fire extinguishers within the campus and one in the main lobby area. The building owner is responsible for the fire extinguisher located in the main lobby area.

An exterior knox box is located outside the main entrance.

Both a first aid kit and automated external defibrillator (AED) are located in the main hall

A flashlight is located with the sector leader clipboard. It is the responsibility of the sector leader to ensure on a monthly basis that the flashlight is in operating condition.
