Joliet Junior College's Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) Program curriculum provides training on a wide variety of design disciplines. The core curriculum focuses 2D & 3D design using the AutoCAD software application while offering classes in Solid Modeling (Pro-E, SolidWorks, & Inventor), Animation (3D Studio Max), & Architecture (Architectural Desktop), and Microstation V8 XM software applications.

The use of computers for design & drafting is the preferred method of engineering and architectural firms in today's industry. Opportunities for CADD designers continue to grow everyday. Jobs in the related fields of Computer Aided Manufacturing, Geographical Information Systems, graphic arts, training, inspection, Internet applications, and networking continue to expand as well.

Computer generated design files have many applications including use with MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint and Internet applications. As the use of computer generated design continues to expand, job opportunities for Joliet Junior College students will continue to increase as well.
