JJC Automotive Students dominate Skills USA State Competition!!
JJC Automotive students competed at the Skills USA State Contest April 19-21, 2007. To qualify for the state competition students had to take a
written test in February testing their knowledge against other college students across the state. Participating Colleges included Parkland College,
College of Lake County, Waubonsee Community College, Rend Lake College, Illinois Central, and Kaskaskia College. Of the 41 students to take the
written test only 12 advanced to the state competition in Springfield IL. JJC qualified 8 of the 12 students for the state competition. The JJC
students placed as follows:
1st - Will Raczak
2nd - James Grabowski
3rd - Kyle Kiper
5th - Robert Armstong
6th - Kyle Thomas
9th - Jeremy Bick
10th - Jamie Barr
11th - Kira Quasny
Will Raczak will advance to compete against all the other state winners for the national championship at the Skills USA National Competition to be
held June 25-30, 2007 in Kansas City, Missouri.
JJC automotive students took 2nd place at the Chi-Town teardown (engine teardown and reassembly contest) held January 28, 2007
at the World of Wheels (McCormick Place, Chicago IL). Read more...
