FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT

Art Students:
- Patricia Balaban, Signe Blogg, Alex Carlson, Jonathan Casserilla, Melissa Dombrowski, Jenna Goebel, Max Hanner, Matthew Havelka, Joseph
Jenner, Erika Konopack, Pedro Palacios, Justin Schoppelry, Terrence Sheehan, Neal Vandenbergh, Jason Vote, Nicole Wilkin, and Ian Wright’s
works were accepted in the Illinois Community College Juried Art Exhibition held at Governors State University, February 13 through March 2.
- Jenni Valentine and Jenni Hogan made and donated ceramic bowls to the McClean County Arts Center for a fundraiser to fight hunger in
McClean County, IL. The fundraiser held on January 26.
- Art student Pedro Palacios exhibited his sculptures at the Around the Coyote Gallery 2006 Fall Arts Festival which was held in Chicago
from September 7-10, 2006.

Interior Design Students:
Lori Baker, Susan Becker, Jessica Brinker, Lynn Casserilla, Jennifer Chandler,
Kruti Dalal, Angela Engfer, Isela Jaramillo, Ana Georgeff, Jan Leshin, Lana Lynch, Melanie Messenger, Diana Rowley, Angela Smith, Nicki
Scott, and Nikky Smith exhibited their projects in the JJC Interior Design Student Exhibition held in the Laura A. Sprague Gallery.
Exhibition ran from January 22 through February 16.
Interior Design students Lori Baker, Joliet; Dorina Bralis and Pam Truvillion,
Plainfield; Angela Enger, Gardner; Judy Lape, Peotone; and Melonie Messenger, Wilmington, under the supervision of Barbara Pergande assisted
Carson Pirie Scott designer Sal LaPorta in the design for a model hone for the 2006 Cavalcade of Homes in Plainfield. Students drafted floor
plans, elevations of wall and drapery treatments, and assisted in selection of material finishes and furnishing for the showcase home.

Music Students:
- Kimberly Widmer had the opportunity of attending and accompanying for the
Showchoir Camps of America held at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois
during July of 2007. She served as the accompanist for a group of 81
students between the ages of 15 and 18 under the choral direction of Jeff
Gemar and choreographer Stephen Todd. Throughout the camp over 50 different
workshops and clinics were offered by renowned composers, arrangers, and
musicians from all over the world.
Kimberly graduated with an Associate of
Arts degree from Joliet Junior College in May of 2006 and was a piano student
of Sue E. Malmberg, Professor of Music.
- JJC music alumna Jessica Boese was selected as the winner of the Illinois State University Music Department Concerto Competition. She
will perform the Clarinet Concerto by Aaron Copland, March 8, 2007, in the Center for Performing Arts.
