Interior Design Students:
As part of an Interior Design internship course, Joliet Junior College students
developed a design concept for the interior of the Joliet Junior College Counseling office. JJC students, Lynne Casserilla, Janet
Leshin, Griselda Olmedo, and Megan Schumacher, worked with Barbara Pergande, Interior Design program coordinator. The students consulted
with personnel of the Counseling Office; researched and selected furnishings, materials, and finishes. They presented their findings via CAD
drawing to the Counseling Office staff. The final design draft has been completed and budgetary approval has been requested. This project
permitted the internship students to gain experience in working on a tight schedule, work within a budget and with members of a diverse
design team. Project was conducted in February 2006.
Interior Design students Valmira Bajrami, Susan Becker, Chris Beele, Mary Beth
DiMayo, Judy Lape, Angela Smith, and Sherry Varner worked with Carson Pirie Scott, Sal Llaporta, on the 34th annual
A.S.I.D. Oak Park/River Forest Infant Welfare Society Showcase Home as their internship
assignment. The project was supervised by Barbara Pergande, Interior Design Program Coordinator. Showcase home was open to the public from
September 11 through October 2, 2005.
