Cheney Mansion Showcase Home - 2007 Recently, JJC interior design students were given the opportunity to assist the college's interior design coordinator, Barbara Pergande, in designing two rooms of a local showcase home. The 35th annual showcase home-the historic Cheney Mansion in Oak Park was open to the public from Sept. 9-30, 2007 and all proceeds will benefit the Oak Park/River Forest Infant Welfare Society. Four JJC students-Jessica Brinker of Channahon; Mary Haller of Richton Park; Isela Jaramillo of Morris; and Andrea Ozbolt of Plainfield-assisted Pergande The group designed the interiors of two spaces in the home, the Groom's Room and the Pub Room. The Cheney Mansion, located at 220 North Euclid Avenue in Oak Park, is a 12,000-square-foot structure designed in 1913 that boasts six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Two acres of landscaped grounds also include a coach house and greenhouse. This was the fifth (5) year JJC worked with Carson Pirie Scott
