The Forensics/ Speech Team is open to all JJC students, regardless of major. Members represent JJC at intercollegiate speech tournaments on both the regional and national level. Speech competition not only offers opportunities to sharpen valuable communications skills, but students may also receive college credit for their participation. Team members may compete in interpretation events (poetry, prose, drama, duo, program oral interpretation, readers theatre), public address (informative speaking, persuasive speaking, communication analysis, speaking to entertain), and/ or limited preparation events (impromptu, extemporaneous speaking). The Forensics/ Speech Team competes in approximately eight tournaments per year. See the list below. |
