Thomas Liley, Professor of Music
- Was granted a sabbatical leave for the Spring 2007 semester at the 2006 February Board Meeting.
- Attended the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference. He performed as a soloist and presented a
lecture. In addition, he chaired a panel of judges for the preliminary round of the Classical Saxophone Competition, which heard 47
contestants. A member of NASA’s Executive Board, Liley also participated in various organizational meetings. Conference was held at the
University of Iowa, February 15-19, 2006.
- Presented a recital at St. Raymond’s Cathedral on January 29, 2006.
- Served as chair of a panel of judges for the North American Saxophone Alliance Classical Saxophone Competition held
at the University of Iowa, February 16, 2005.
- Attended the 59th Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic held in Chicago, December 14-16, 2005.
- Guest Artist at a saxophone workshop presented by the University of Minnesota, October 20-23, 2005.
- Awarded funding by the Faculty Development Committee to perform and make a presentation in Lljubljana, Slovenia,
July 2006.
- Presented a faculty recital at Joliet Junior College with pianist Sue Malmberg on Sunday, October 16, 2005.
- Taught on the faculty of the Indianhead Arts Center in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, August 7-12, 2005.
- Presented a master class at the National Music Camp, Interlochen, Michigan, August 3, 2005.

- Attended the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), 81st
Convention. Attended workshops on accreditation, jazz in the junior college curriculum, music technology, and roundtable discussions with
junior college faculty on various music topics, November 18-22, 2005.
- Presented a faculty recital at Joliet Junior College with saxophonist Thomas
Liley on Sunday, October 24, 2005.
- Presented a lecture entitled, The History of Broadway Musicals in the
First Half of the Twentieth Century, as part of the Living Well Series at Wesley Acres, Des Moines, Iowa, June 14, 2005.

Joe Milosevich, Professor of Art and Gallery
Director
Co-sponsored the Illinois Community College Juried Exhibition. Eleven
schools participated and of the 61 entries selected for the exhibit, 9 of the 15 award pieces were from Joliet Junior College students. The
exhibit was held at Joliet Junior College, February 6-24, 2006.

Barb Pergande, Professor of Interior Design and
Interior Design Coordinator
- Supervised the Interior Design intern students who will be submitting a proposal for the redesigning of the
Counseling Center, February 2006.
- Interior Design faculty and students hosted a program entitled, At Your Service. Topics included setting up a
business, insurance, Internal Revenue Services, accounting, etc. The program was offered to the community at Joliet Junior College on
November 16, 2005.
- Supervised the A.S.I.D./Oak Park-Infant Welfare Society Showcase Home by the Joliet Junior College Interior Design
interns in cooperation with Carson Pirie Scott designer, Sal LaPorta. The home is located at 620 N. Euclid Avenue, Oak Park, IL, and was
open for the public viewing from September 11 through October 2, 2005. Proceeds went to the Oak Park -Infant Welfare Society.

Philip Spencer, Associate Professor of Music
- Served as accompanist for Choral Reading Session presented by Illinois
American Choral Directors Association for the Illinois Music Educators Association State Convention, Peoria, Il, January 27, 2006.
- Conducted the JJC Chamber Singers in holiday performances at Joliet Country
Club, Essington Place, JJC City Center Campus, and Faculty/Staff Reception, in addition to the Madri-Gala performance, December 2005.
- Conducted JJC Chorale in a holiday performance at Marshall Field’s, Louis
Joliet Mall, December 2005.
- Performed a hymn festival of his own compositions and improvisations at
Grace United Methodist Church in Naperville, as the inaugural event in their Organ Dedication Concert Series on Sunday, October 23, 2005.
- Founding conductor of the new Lutheran Youth Choir of North America. This
auditioned choir for youth in grades 9-12 will gather in the Chicago area from throughout the United States and Canada for one week of
rehearsal each summer, then tour nationally in even-numbered years and internationally in odd-numbered years (Germany in 2007).
- Named Chancel Choir Director (Adult Choir) at St. Timothy Lutheran Church,
Naperville, Il, beginning September 1, 2005.
- Accompanied Amanda Halgrimson, soloist with Deutsche Opera, Berlin, in a
recital at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Naperville, IL on July 23, 2005.
- Presented hymn festival of original composition and improvisation for organ
to Summer Conference of Illinois Chapter, American Choral Directors Association at Illinois Wesleyan University on July 14, 2005.

Two pieces were exhibited in the “Viewpoint Ceramic: 2006" exhibit. One
piece received Honorable Mention and both were sold. Exhibit was held at the Hyde Art Gallery at Grossmont College, San Diego, CA, January
