Lab policies and procedures

  1. No food, drinks, or children allowed in the lab.

  2. All applications should be properly shut down after use.

  3. Students must use floppy disks to save and should never save on the C:\ drive.

  4. All students and teachers must be out of the lab promptly at closing time.

  5. Never attempt to fix a broken computer or printer; call a lab assistant.

  6. No game playing is allowed.

  7. Place paper trash neatly in the recycle bin.

  8. No telephone support for hardware, software, or homework will be provided.

  9. Always preview before printing.

  10. Only print necessary pages.

  11. Only print in color if absolutely necessary.

  12. Minimize printings to one copy only.

  13. All UNIX accounts will be removed on the last day of finals.

  14. No one is allowed in a lab that is reserved for a class.

  15. Check the lost and found for missing items and disks.

  16. Never switch disks in the middle of an application, always end the application first.

  17. Students must be currently enrolled in classes to use the lab.

  18. Any abuse of the equipment will result in restricted use or loss of privileges.

  19. Students should never leave personal property in the lab if they leave.

  20. Anyone who willfully violates any of the above guidelines will be subject to disciplinary action.
