EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
ASSOCIATE IN APPLED SCIENCE
Career Program
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has undergone a great expansion in the last 10 years. There has been a shift from volunteer
forces to full-time agencies that not only respond and treat emergencies, but play an active roll in injury prevention. With this shift the demand
for educated EMS personnel has grown significantly.
Joliet Junior College's associate's degree program is designed to prepare individuals for a wide spectrum of EMS careers including the fire service, hospital emergency department
technicians, physicians offices and clinics, and EMS-training facilities.

of studying. Therefore, the student should put these courses as a priority. |
