Listed below are courses offered at Joliet Junior College on CPR instruction for health care professionals.  (Check schedules or office for current times and costs). These courses include:

CPR for Health Care Professionals (CPR 100)
The purpose of this course is to teach participants how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants.  One and two-rescuer CPR, Heimlich maneuver, AED, and the use of a resuscitation mask also will be taught.  A CPR certificate is valid for two years by the American Heart Association.


 
CPR Renewal Course (CPR 101)
American Heart Association standards for two year update of adult, youth, infant, Heimlich, one and two-man rescuer.
Prerequisite:  Must have a current CPR card to enroll.  A certificate will be awarded by the American Heart Association, which is valid for two years.  CPR mask required and may be purchased in the Campus Bookstore.
 
 
CPR Instructor Course (CPR 102)
Newly revised curriculum approved by the American Heart Association and designed to train lay people and medical professionals to teach CPR at all levels including AED.  Prerequisite: CPR 116 and current health care provider card.
 
 
First Aid & CPR Instructor Course (CPR 109)
Designed for those wanting certification to teach American Red Cross classes.  Prerequisite:  CPR 117-(01).
 
 
CPR Instructor Training - Pre-Test (CPR 116)
Designed for those wanting certification to teach American Heart Association CPR.  Required session to enroll in CPR 102.  Skills will be evaluated and a CTC site will be selected.
Prerequisite:  Current AHA BLS healthcare provider card that includes AED--must bring to class.
 
 
Fundamentals of Instructor Training - FIT  (CPR 117)
Designed for those wanting certification to teach American Red Cross classes.
