The Swine Management Program prepares students for careers involving production, management and marketing of swine. Most graduates are employed full-time in positions such as general production managers, herdsmen; breeding, farrowing, nursery grow-finish or wean-finish managers or other specialized careers involving the management, production or marketing of swine. Placement of graduates has been consistently near 100%. |

Internships: The Supervised Occupational Experience Program is an integral part of this program and provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while earning JJC credits as well as being paid a regular salary/wage. Placement is coordinated by JJC Agriculture Staff and each student is visited on-site during the internship period. JJC Swine Management students are placed throughout the United States. |

Employment: Graduates from the Swine Management Program typically have 6-8 full-time positions to choose from upon graduation. Often they will remain with their final placement employer for a permanent full-time position. Starting salaries range from $23,000 - 30,000 |

Classes: Nearly 40 specialized classes in Agriculture are available to our students so you may customize your education to your specific area of interest whether that be AGRONOMY, ANIMAL SCIENCE, AGRICULTURE MECHANIZATION or AGRICULTURE MANAGEMENT. In addition, many of our classes include weekly hands-on laboratory experience to enhance practical learning. |

Facilities: JJC's Agriculture Programs are housed in a separate building on the main campus and are recognized as being among the finest in the Midwest. In addition, the 140 acre J. F. Richards Land Laboratory with numerous agronomy research and demonstration plots provides students with another opportunity to enhance their education. |

Extra-Curricular
Activities: JJC Agriculture Students may participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including more than 60 on-campus students organizations including the Student Agriculture Association and the Livestock Judging Team. JJC also has many intercollegiate athletic teams including including football, basketball, baseball, volleyball and tennis. |
