What is
P.A.S.?

JJC is an active member of the Illinois and National PAS-Postsecondary Agricultural Student Organization.  The mission of the PAS is to provide opportunities for individual growth, leadership, and career preparations.  JJC agriculture students have the opportunity to compete in contests, attend leadership conferences, and hold state and national offices.  Students travel nationwide to the conferences with all expenses paid by JJC.  Participation in PAS makes JJC students more competitive for scholarships and employment opportunities.

Annual Fall "Get Acquainted Picnic"
Each year we hold our annual gathering of students, faculty, and staff at nearby Inwood Park so that the students have an opportunity to socialize with each other, as well as, enjoy a friendly game of softball and recognize the many scholarship winners within the department.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament
The SAA /PAS sponsor several social events
for the students to participate in. The Ag/Hort 3-on-3 basketball tournament is one of them. Yearly, two tournaments are held. These are a great way to meet new people, have fun, and stay in shape.

Spring Livestock Judging Contest
The SSA/PAS are crucial in organizing and running the annual spring contest each year. This contest “same picture that’s on now” brings in more than 250 4-H and FFA judging teams.

Agriculture Career Day
During the fall semester each year, the Agriculture Department and SAA/PAS host two career days to help promote our campus and Agriculture programs to high school juniors and seniors.
