Service Hours 
PHI THETA KAPPA  

SERVICE HOUR REQUIREMENTS  

During each semester as an active PTK member you must participate in the following service requirements:

  • Attend one chapter (General) monthly meeting
  • Participate in one PTK fund-raiser activity
  • Attend New Member Orientation
  • Complete six Service Hours 
    (The six PTK service hours must include FOUR hours of PTK sponsored events. Only two outside service hours will be accepted per semester.
    All outside service hours must be approved by one of the officers.)

Service hours will also be awarded for the following activities:

  • Participate in Mainstreet
  • Attendance at more than one monthly meeting per semester
  • Serve as an officer or committee chairperson
  • Serve as a Student Judicial Advisor. For more information and an application please see Pam Dilday, Interim Dean of Student Development in the Student Center, D-1010.
  • Community Service activities (with prior approval)
  • Participate in the Candy Bar sale (offered Fall and Spring semesters)

* Members participating in 6 Service hours per semester will be awarded the use of an Honors Stole during graduation. The Honor Stole will be provided by Phi Theta Kappa free of charge.  (Honors Stoles are the property of Phi Theta Kappa and are provided for a one-time use only. They must be returned after graduation.) members are welcome to purchase their own stole from PTK International if they wish to keep one as a memento of graduation.

Service Hour forms should be dropped off at Patricia Shue's office - E1029 - Phone 815-280-2519 or they may be brought to a membership meeting.
