Become Part of the Healthcare Workforce

If you always wanted a career in the healthcare industry, we can help. Joliet Junior College has a new program designed for people who are strong on desire and looking to acquire skills to be successful in the healthcare industry.

Health Careers: Skilled Workers, Strong Earnings project is a Healthcare Bridge program to help motivated individuals begin a career as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant or Pharmacy Technician.

For those who meet eligibility and selection criteria there is free:

  • Career screening and guidance
  • Career training and industry certifications
  • Healthcare Spanish, computer, and medical terminology courses
  • Supportive services

Career opportunities in the healthcare industry are growing and are in-demand. This is the time to make the move that will give you a new start and a bright future. Information sessions will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at 9am and fourth Wednesday of each month at 1pm. For more information or to sign up for an information session, contact Kelly at (815) 280-1416 or klapetin@jjc.edu.

This is a collaborative effort between JJC departments: Workforce Development, Corporate & Community Services, Division of Adult & Family Services, and Allied Health/Nursing, to advance bridge programs as a model for providing low income, low skilled individuals with career opportunities in the healthcare industry. This project is funded through a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families which is administered by The Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago.
