Jennifer Peterson
Head Volleyball Coach

The 2008 volleyball season will be the first for new
head volleyball coach Jennifer Peterson. Jennifer
coached both girls' and boys' volleyball at Lincoln-Way Central High
School from 1999-2003. After a one year hiatus, she returned to
Lincoln-Way Central for the 2003 and 2004 volleyball seasons.
Jennifer attended Lockport High School where she enjoyed a successful
volleyball career. In her four years at Lockport, the Porters reached
the IHSA state tournament earning second, third, fifth, and first place
respectively. During her high school career, Jennifer earned many awards
including All-State and All-American honors. |

She continued on to North Carolina State University on a full-ride
volleyball scholarship, pursuing her degree in biochemistry. At North
Carolina State, she earned honors such as ranking ninth in digs for all
time in ACC volleyball, ranking seventh in digs nationally, and earning
the ACC outstanding senior scholarship athlete award. After graduating
North Carolina State as valedictorian, Jennifer attended the University
of North Carolina to receive her masters degree in science education.
Currently, Jennifer teaches chemistry at Lincoln-Way Central High
School. She also works as an adjunct fitness instructor in the Joliet
Junior College Total Fitness Center. She resides in Crest Hill, IL. |

Nicole Rausch
Assistant Volleyball CoachNicole Rausch will begin her first
season as an assistant coach with Joliet Junior College in 2008.
During 1999-2006, Nicole coached three boys' volleyball and seven
years of girls' volleyball at Lockport Township High School.
Nicole attended Lockport Township High School where she had a very
successful volleyball career. In her four years at Lockport, the Porters
reached the IHSA state tournament earning second, third, fifth, and
first place respectively. Nicole earned many awards including All-State
and All-American honors and was named Illinois Volleyball Player of the
Year by the Chicago Sun Times during her senior year. |

She continued on to North Carolina State University on a full-ride
volleyball scholarship, pursuing her degree in biochemistry. At North
Carolina State, she earned various all-tournament team awards including
All-ACC, as well as earned honors such as ranking first in all-time
volleyball assists at NC State. After graduating from North Carolina
State, Nicole attended the University of North Carolina to receive her
master's degree in science education and later attended Lewis University
to earn her certification in counseling and guidance.
Nicole is a guidance counselor at Lyons Township High School. She and
her husband Brett reside in Chicago, IL. |
