Ed Koncel wraps up first season of Class A Baseball
Former JJC Wolves shortstop Ed Koncel has had a great
year of baseball. After being a vital part of leading the Joliet
Junior College Wolves to the 2008 NJCAA Division III national
championship, he was drafted in the 13th round by the Texas Rangers in the 2008 Major League Baseball (MLB)
draft. Ed was sent to the Spokane Indians Baseball Club out of Spokane,
Washington to get Class A baseball experience. The Indians won the
Northwest League Championship after a 51-25 record during regular season
play. Koncel had a .205 batting average with 26 hits and 127 at bats.
His 7 doubles, 2 home runs, and 8 RBIs gave him a .307 slugging
percentage. |
